Introducing The Suan Collection
I have always loved the small things that make up childhood.
A pocket full of pinecones.
A ladybird found in the long grass.
The sound of a blackbird singing somewhere in the garden.
Dandelion wishes blown into the wind.
The things that seem so ordinary when we are small, but somehow stay with us.
It was thinking about these little moments that led me to create Suan, our new collection of Irish baby blankets.
Suan is an Irish word for rest, quiet calm, peaceful sleep and deep ease. I loved the feeling of the word long before I knew exactly what the blanket would become.
I wanted to make something soft and comforting, but also something that carried a little story.
Each Suan blanket features an original Fiadh & Finn watercolour, inspired by the Irish countryside and and wild places that surround us. Made in Ireland using beautifully soft 100% organic cotton jersey, they are made for little ones to be wrapped in, snuggled under and taken along on all sorts of adventures.
A blanket for the cot.
For the pram.
For falling asleep in someone's arms.
For picnics in the grass and slow Sunday mornings.
And for all those quiet moments in between.

It is Irish artwork made into something useful and beautiful, something that can become part of a child's everyday life.
I hope that, like a favourite childhood story or a loved toy, these blankets will gather memories along the way.
Because perhaps the nicest things we can give a child aren't the things that are perfect or precious enough to put away.
They're the things that get loved.
The things that get carried around.
The things that become theirs.
